Presentation Boards

In Monday's seminar the tutors evaluated our presentation boards, regretfully, I did not have enough time to work on mine as I was concentrating on the brand book and so only had two to show. It would have been useful to show all three as the feedback was insightful and helpful to the creation of my boards.

This image shows the three boards I presented (unfortunately they got crumpled and ripped in my bag), for the last board I drew out a rough sketch of my ideas for what I might put on it, which was my communications. The other two boards consisted of an overview of the brand and more in depth into the visual identity as well as the values, personality etc.

THE FEEDBACK:

Overall, the tutors liked my boards which was encouraging, with the positives being: the mock ups that I had created, the way I have included what the brand isn't as well as what it is under their tone of voice, and the overall visual impact of the way they are laid out. Some things to work on were also discussed, however, this included developing the wording I use in the description of the brand, putting imagery of the toolbox on the board, and finally just making sure I develop the third board strongly.

THE RESOLUTION:

Going forward, I plan on developing my boards further by taking the tutors comments into consideration. I will do this through ensuring my brand's tone of voice comes through clearly in the writing on the boards as well as throughout the brand book as well as showing them my third board for their thoughts once I have it put together. With the comment about the toolbox, however, the only reason I did not yet include it on this first draft of the boards is because I have been asking the designer to allow me to borrow the product as his images were not high quality, but unfortunately he is yet to get back to me. With this I also would like to do a Photoshoot with the product to get across my identity with how it is displayed in advertising images rather than just relying on Photoshop to place it into scenes. A potential for this would be going to a wooded area and photographing it there as a lot of my imagery revolves around nature and I think this would be more fitting than standard plain studio shots.
